As digital transformation and automation continue to advance, connectivity infrastructure plays an essential role in maintaining the stable operation of industrial systems. However, as deployments expand, challenges involving transmission distances, device power supply, and distributed network management place increasingly demanding requirements on businesses and system integrators (SIs).

To address these requirements, adopting advanced industrial networking solutions not only extends connectivity capabilities but also helps optimize infrastructure and improve operational efficiency. Building on their partnership, PROSCEND and Alta Media jointly organized the “Beyond 100m Reach PoE – Extending Industrial PoE Connectivity Beyond 100 Meters” workshop on 4 November 2026 at Queen Plaza, Ho Chi Minh City. The event featured technical presentations, solution introductions, and live technology demonstrations, providing businesses, system integrators, and technology partners with opportunities to discuss real-world deployment challenges, strengthen connections, and explore long-term collaboration opportunities.

“Beyond 100m Reach PoE” Workshop – Exploring Solutions to Industrial Connectivity and Network Management Challenges

Under the theme “Beyond 100m Reach PoE,” the workshop focused on common challenges in deploying and operating industrial network infrastructure, particularly conventional Ethernet distance limitations, PoE power delivery to remote devices, and distributed network management.

One of the workshop’s key sessions, “Overcome Industrial Connectivity and Management Challenges,” introduced how PROSCEND’s technology solutions can help businesses and system integrators address real-world deployment challenges.

Among the solutions presented, Industrial Long-Reach PoE was introduced as an approach to extending Ethernet connectivity beyond the conventional 100-meter limit. Depending on the configuration and deployment conditions, the solution supports both data transmission and PoE power delivery over UTP cables at distances of up to 800 meters or coaxial cables at distances of up to 1,000 meters.

Beyond extending transmission distances, Long-Reach PoE also enables the reuse of suitable existing cable infrastructure. This is particularly valuable for projects upgrading analog camera systems to IP cameras or installations involving complex construction conditions, where replacing the entire cabling system could create additional work and technical requirements.

Alongside extended connectivity solutions, the workshop introduced O’smart RAM, a platform designed to support centralized management and monitoring of industrial network devices across multiple locations.

Through O’smart RAM, administrators can monitor connection status, track network device operations, receive configured alerts, and perform remote management tasks on compatible devices. Combining industrial connectivity infrastructure with a centralized management platform helps businesses improve network visibility, adopt a more proactive approach to operations, and respond more effectively to technical issues.

Through the presentations, attendees gained insights not only into the features and operating principles of PROSCEND’s solutions but also into their potential applications in environments such as factories, industrial parks, security surveillance systems, and distributed industrial infrastructure.

Live Demo – Hands-On Demonstrations of PROSCEND Solutions and Their Operational Capabilities

One of the workshop’s highlights was the live demonstration of Industrial Long-Reach PoE and O’smart RAM, where the solutions were presented through direct interactions with physical equipment and management interfaces.

Rather than relying solely on technical documents or illustrative images, the live demonstrations gave attendees an opportunity to observe how the technologies operate and gain a clearer understanding of their features and potential applications in real-world deployment scenarios.

For Industrial Long-Reach PoE, the demonstration focused on illustrating how the solution extends Ethernet connectivity and delivers PoE power to devices over long distances. Through demonstration models and equipment, attendees could explore the connection principles, the role of transmission extension devices, and the factors to consider when integrating the technology into industrial networks.

Meanwhile, the O’smart RAM live demonstration introduced management functions through the platform’s interface, helping attendees understand how to monitor device status, track connections, identify alerts, and support remote troubleshooting in compatible configurations.

In particular, demonstrating individual features through direct operations helped clarify the relationship between technology capabilities and practical operational needs. From connecting devices over extended distances to managing distributed networks, attendees gained additional information to evaluate the potential benefits of PROSCEND solutions for their projects.

The live demonstrations also added an interactive element to the workshop, making complex technical concepts more accessible, easier to visualize, and more closely connected to the deployment requirements of businesses.

Q&A – Understanding Real-World Needs and Encouraging Technical Discussions

In addition to technology presentations and demonstrations, the workshop included a dedicated Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with the technical teams.

During the session, representatives from businesses, technology partners, and system integrators had opportunities to raise questions and discuss common challenges and technical requirements encountered when deploying industrial network infrastructure.

The discussions focused on practical considerations, including transmission distances, existing cabling conditions, power delivery to remote devices, and approaches to monitoring and managing distributed network systems.
