Alta Media Deploys Nearly 70m² of P1.9 LED Displays for the “Renewing the Nation – Celebrating 50 Years of Ho Chi Minh City” Event

Half a century after officially being named in honor of President Ho Chi Minh, Ho Chi Minh City has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from the challenges of the post-war era into a vibrant, modern metropolis and one of Vietnam’s most dynamic economic centers. According to Vietnam Pictorial, July 2, 1976, marked a historic milestone when the 6th National Assembly officially renamed Saigon–Gia Dinh as Ho Chi Minh City, ushering in a new chapter for the largest city in southern Vietnam.

Over the past 50 years, the city has continuously evolved to strengthen its position as the country’s leading economic hub. From overcoming challenges in infrastructure, socio-economic development, and urban planning, Ho Chi Minh City has steadily expanded its transportation network through ring roads, expressways, metro lines, and other major infrastructure projects. Landmark developments such as Vo Van Kiet Boulevard, Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard, Pham Van Dong Boulevard, Thu Thiem Tunnel, Ba Son Bridge, and Phu My Bridge have significantly reshaped the city’s urban landscape while enhancing regional connectivity.

Beyond infrastructure development, Ho Chi Minh City continues to pursue the vision of becoming a civilized, modern, and sustainable metropolis. According to Vietnam Pictorial, the city aims to become a modern and innovative urban center with deep global integration by 2030. Looking ahead to 2045, its vision is to rank among the world’s top 100 cities for quality of life while establishing itself as a leading Asian center for finance, commerce, education, healthcare, and innovation.

This long-term vision was further reflected in a series of major projects launched on April 29, 2026, including the Ho Chi Minh City Central Square and Administrative Center, Metro Line 2 connecting Ben Thanh and Thu Thiem, the International University Urban Area, and the Ben Nha Rong–Khanh Hoi Waterfront Park. These developments are expected to shape the next chapter of Ho Chi Minh City’s transformation into a modern, dynamic, and globally connected metropolis.

Against this meaningful backdrop, the “Renewing the Nation – Celebrating 50 Years of Ho Chi Minh City” event served as an opportunity to reflect on the city’s remarkable 50-year journey while honoring the resilience, innovation, and aspirations that have defined its development. As a commemorative celebration, the event required not only a dignified atmosphere but also a visually engaging presentation capable of conveying the city’s history, achievements, and future ambitions.

For the event, Alta Media deployed nearly 70m² of P1.9 LED displays. With its fine pixel pitch, the P1.9 LED display is ideally suited for environments that demand exceptional image clarity, smooth visual performance, and detailed content presentation at close to medium viewing distances. This configuration is particularly effective for commemorative ceremonies featuring archival footage, key visuals, historical imagery, development milestones, and keynote presentations.

Covering nearly 70m², the LED display served as the visual centerpiece of the venue, creating a unified and immersive backdrop throughout the program. For a ceremony commemorating the city’s 50-year journey, the display system extended beyond simply presenting information—it enhanced the emotional impact of the event by allowing attendees to experience the city’s transformation through compelling visuals and storytelling on stage.

Through the deployment of nearly 70m² of P1.9 LED displays, Alta Media once again demonstrated its expertise in delivering display solutions for large-scale events of significant cultural and historical importance. From technical execution to visual presentation, the LED system supported the seamless operation of the program, enhanced content delivery, and helped create a dignified atmosphere worthy of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City.
